We customize our instructions to fit your particular needs. You will learn hands-on; not through a movie or a bunch of PowerPoint slides. Instead we provide you with our popular matrix notes to record your way of understanding each procedure we share

Transferable knowledge:

The knowledge you acquire through this workshop is transferable and applicable when using other photo editing applications such as Adobe Photoshop CS3/CS4/CS5.

What will you need to bring to the workshop?

• Laptop with Photoshop Elements 8 for PC or Mac.
• For those who do not have Photoshop Elements 8, you may opt to download a trial version from Adobe.
  

Please note: Adobe's trial version of Photoshop Elements 8 will expire in 30 days. Our recommendation is to install the program a few days prior to the workshop. You may purchase the full version of the program for less than $100.

 In this example, we want to extract the flower from the background to use on our own background. We want to put the flower on its own black background.

Using selection and extraction tools in Photoshop Elements, we successfully extracted the flower. We will teach you these techniques throughout the workshop.

 

As you can see, this photo is distorted. It was taken from the ground using a wide angle lens. This photo also suffers from exposure problems. The upper left side of the photo has a brighter sky than the upper right side. Plus, there are telephone pole wires cutting through the sky on the right hand side.

 

Using the distort, clone, and perspective tools in Photoshop Elements, we successfully removed the distortion and telephone wires. We went on to select the dark portion of the sky on the right hand side, and equalized it using exposure adjustments. You will learn how to apply similar techniques throughout our hands-on workshop.
